I just picked up a new edition to my R/C collection!!! I got a almost new T-Maxx for $150 bucks!! It has a brand new Fantom Fr18 with a Werks pipe.The engine has less than a gallon through it.I know because I broke it in and tuned it for the guy! It's got the forward only conversion,Tinity springs, RRP alloy brake disc, Hitec servo's,Two sets of rims and tires, an alloy engine mount, and a few extra parts along with all the stock parts and the EZ-start.He also gave me the TRX2.5 engine with a Trinity cooling head.The 2.5 needs a new crank but the Piston/Sleeve is good so It'll probably find it's way into my poor old Pro 15 Rusty. All thats wrong with it is that the Fr18 twisted all the wheel axles so I gotta fix them(already bought the parts) and clean it up but other than that it's in perfect condition!!!!!

He named the price not me. He originally said $100 but after we went threw everything he asked for another $50 so I agreed and forked over the cash. If he wanted more he should've asked for it and I would've paid it. He's one of my best friends too so maybe thats why he didn't ask much for it. He doesn't have alot of time to play with it anymore so it's been sitting for a little while after he broke it and I think he just wanted to get rid of it.
Maybe just as a nice gesture, you offer him another $50. Hell, the engine is worth that... Just a thought.
If not, it's like you said, he named the price. But walking away with a deal like that would eat at my conscience.

Well I did offer to sell it on Ebay for him but he turned me down.I honestly don't know why he wanted so little money for it. He even gave me the receipts for the truck itself and the engine and pipe he bought less than 2 months ago so it's not like he doesn't know how much he had invested. Maybe I will off him another $50 or so for it but knowing him he probably won't take it but I'm sure he'll appreciate the gesture. I'll post a few pics of it after I get it cleaned up and put back together.Most of the srews are either bent or stripped so it needs a screw kit and I think one of the diffs may be shot too so I'm going to take a look at it before I reassemble it.

Well, if he doesn't take it, then at least you know you didn't rip him off. In my book, with a friend, it's better to offer too much than too little and have it come up for the next year...

You got a good deal you have to remember you are taking his headache away & now you have to deal with the truck if there is anything wrong with it. Also We need some people who think like you guys I sold so much stuff & no one ever came to me & give me more money.

Olds is right...sounds like you took advantage using the oldest trick in the book. You didn't speak up and mention the fact that he might get a bunch more. Sometimes omitting something is just as bad as coming right out and lying. Just my opinion mind you. If you sleep fine at night, then you got yourself a good deal and can enjoy it.

With what I got in my deal, I thought $200 was a great deal, but $275 would have been fair.
I did the math when I was searching. What I wanted was basically a savage SS without the engine and pipe. I thought $200 was fair for that.
Considering the following:
Savage SS with engine Header And Pipe = $340. Subtracting the engine alone drops it to $200. Subtract the $35 pipe and it's 165. Subtract another $45 for shipping that I wouldn't have had to do buying at my LHS and now it's around $120. Add used cvd's, used hb shocks and installed brake kit. This would have made $275 fair in my eyes but not a "great" deal.
The deal is done and if SkyMaxx isn't content anymore, PM me. I don't want any bad feelings and I will make good (within reason...).

Maybe it's just my personal statistic since most people assume I'm being sarcastic or cracking a joke due to what I've said they can't believe actually came out of someones mouth. I'm a peepee when it comes to stupid people and most the time they are too stupid to realize I'm just telling them what everyone else won't, which is the "truth". actually the thread got a bit sidetracked I think. But I was gonna say how it kinda reminded me of a thread I started when I first starting coming here. (I think we all know which one I'm talking about). Anyways, Zandor is right about that karma thing... sounds like your a pretty straight up guy and I'm sure you'll do the right thing.

It's a thread entitled "free stuff". Definately not my proudest moment but things turned out well and I feel good about it. Do a search it'll come up quick. It got rediculously out of hand and got moved to the FFA forum. not a good first impression I must say. Anyways, I'm done with this topic cuz this isn't the place for it. later.
