I just orderd the wasp .21 small block. Claims to have 2.38 Hp.
It's supposed to drop right into a T Maxx 2.5
I wanted to know if anyone has, or plans to get one, besides me.

If you "wouldn't get one", Explain why?

Well I wouldnt say I would not get one, but I bought the P2 Picco and had to send it back to Werks. I ran it with much frustration, I could not tune it would not run decent on low end and then would just take off and flip on its top. Turned out that front and rear crank bearings had air leaks and crank shaft had massive end play. When you recieve your Orion check the back plate to see if it has brass bushing(that is a plus because Ofna recalled theirs with rubber bushing) and check crankshaft for end play. If either are present send it back and ask for a more recent released motor as the Picco, Ofna, and Orion are all one in the same with only cosmetic differences. At heart the are all Picco's

Oh by the way, if you are pleased that none of the above defects are present, before you run your motor go buy a willy bar you will need it. As bad as mine was running it would yank up the front at 1/3 of the throttle. Take my advice buy a willy bar or a new body! If your motor is free of the defects you are going to love it!

Heya Ratzo

THeir's some guys here that have a P2 that seem to b happy with it.

I wouldn't get one and here's why......the whole point of a big bore conversion is to have a and stronger chassis to handle the overall power and especially torque of a big bore and a longer chassis for some added stability @ high speeds. I wouldn't be suprised if people experience some serious chassis flex with the stock Maxx chassis and one of these bored out small bores.

I am running the Picco P2 drop-in motor in a mostly stock Maxx. I did the FOC and a steel RRP spur, plus I added two teeth to the clutch bell. It took a while to iron out some kinks but now it rips. It will easily wheelie itself over, but that's the fun of it. You can make it dance and hold a wheelie for a long time by playing with the throttle.

This Maxx is set up for street/yard bashing only and I really like the ProLine Road Rage tires on wide offset rims. They have a street tread and will spin pretty easy, which greatly reduces the load on the drivetrain. Stock tires also work good and will allow you to wheelie like mad in dirt or on the street.

I have seen guys running the Mach .26 Dynamite motor using stock Maxx trannies, shafts and diffs with minimal damage. A lot of potential breakage issues will be based solely on how you drive your truck.

I had started a thread a while back on the various issues with the install. Here's the addy: https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14516&highlight=p2

Good luck, you will enjoy new motor once it is setup right.
