Dam i gotta calm down

Why calm down? Enjoy the carnage. The only way to truly learn more in this hobby is to break the stuff you play with. Then you get to learn how to fix it. From there the circle continues on and on. Of course over time, you get smarter and replace broken parts with quality upgrades and you have to get more skilled at breaking things.

domination this may sound weird but the way I fixed breaking fuel tanks is to check your shocks and top off the shock oil I thougt it was weird too but after breaking 3 fueltanks and 3 motor mounts I figured what the hell and I took all my shocks off and rebuilt them now I have no problems w/the fuel tank/motor mount. or you could just put better shocks on.

i got a question well i bent a shock on the left front and i straightened it out seems to opperate fine would it be a good idea to put it back on or ditch it and get a new one??

Domination I say to replace it asap.Depending on the severity of the bend and where the bend starts this may cause a leak later and a big mess. This happened to me on an electric truck and I did the same thing like you. After a couple of runs I found out that dirt creeped into the cylinder and ruined that shock. I would replace it for sure!!!

You could go for a full shock or just buy a replacement shaft (I recommend the latter). Your LHS should have both.

As for the fuel tank issue, I modified my fuel tank set up with a set of dampeners (mini-shocks if you will) that help prevent issues of this nature. You may want to give it a try.

Here's my solution to the problem.

What you will need:
A four inch length of fuel tubing.
USE THE STOCK SCREWS

The procedure:
1. Remove fuel from tank
2. Remove tank from chassis
3. Cut four 1/2-3/4 inch lengths of fuel tubing from your 4 inch piece
4. Force as much of the tubing onto the individual tank posts, leaving about 1/4 inch beyond the end of the post
5. Position the tank over the holes on the chassis.
6. Using the stock screws, feed the screw through the chassis, into the fuel tubing and then the mounting posts.
7. Tighten the mounting screws until you compress the excess fuel tubing about 1/8"
8. Re-attach the fuel lines, fill 'er up and go.

This will give you some motion on the tank, but the fuel tubing will act as a shock absorber. I did this mod after I cracked my fuel tank (about eight months ago), and I have not cracked the replacement (despite several bash sessions with Pirata, The Master of Disaster.)

These directions should get the job done. If you are having trouble visualizing the mod, let me know, and I will snap a photo of my tank and post it for you.

Good luck and happy Maxxing!

Note, I have only replaced one cracked tank on my T-Maxx prior to doing this mod. After that, I had to replace one because of a really bad landing from about 15 feet up followed by a tumble the likes of which a broken tank being the only damage makes you want to smile and go damn, I love this hobby.

thats a good idea for the tank ill give that a try. As for the shock i guees ill pick upo a replacment shaft for it

Hey Sky can I have a pic of that mod? Your pm box is full. That's an awesome idea. I haven't broke any tanks yet but it's always a good idea to prevent things before they happen.:bling: Where can u get longer than stock screws?

Sorry about that. The post needed one edit. Use the stock screws. I found that the longer screws were too much.

As for a picture of the mod...I'll see if I have one. If not, I'll snap one shortly.
