So as many of you know, I had threw down a dime on a set of Axial bead locks and Pro-lines only to realize they were just too big for my rig. They looked great from certain angles, but performance suffered too much for me.

All that being said, I pulled the trigger on a set of Axial Wicked Retros in flat black. Once I got them I set out to make them my own. With a little tape, silver satin paint, and a lot of patience, this is the end result:

She's almost done! I have a JR Sport steering servo in the mail. Some day when I get real board, I'm gonna tear 'er down to de-anodize the chassis and add some aluminum chassis braces.

I also recently added the aluminum rear bulks I had laying around, as well as painting the stock bumpers black and putting the black RPM full skid plate set on.

HOLY poop that thing is freakin sweet man. Nice rig now go get er dirty.

Thanks guys! I'm pretty happy with them! Now let the scuffing of the paint begin!

Once again, thanks everyone!

I'm toying with the idea of starting to paint and customize R/C's for people. I feel there's a need for something a bit more modern and design-centered in the hobby. There are some great painters for flames, checkered flags, bright colored scallops and such for paint jobs. But what about something with clean lines, great color schemes and a modern approach to R/C styling? You know, something along the lines of how Chip Foose approaches car design. The T Maxx is my test subject!

Being a graphic designer, photographer and 1/1 car builder, I think I can bring a fresh approach to R/C. I've seen this theory in a few on-roads and crawlers, but it's few and far between when I see an off-roader with a sick visual set-up. Don't get me wrong! I love all the performance goodies and the faster the better for me! But you don't have to give up function over form. I want to help people make their R/C's into true hot rods!

Nice

Hey dude where did you get those rims and that body I wana do the same thing but a ford body. And duz any1 know if any1 makes mustang bodies for trucks?

Ha! That's not me! Build it to look good crashin' and burnin'! And if it didn't crash hard enough break, do it again!

Booze, Broads, and Hot Rods! Blow'em up and look good doin' it!

Notice the cracks, scuffs, and scratches after only a few runs with the new body on! ...You don't wanna see the motor head! OOOPS!

The rims are Axial Wicked Retros. I custom painted the lip and the lugs. I'm pretty sure they make vintage Ford bodies. I know for a fact they make older Bronco bodies. As far as car bodies on a Monster Truck....never been a fan.

That truck is beautiful. I'd hate to get it dirty let alone crash it.... Nice work

But you gotta crash it! What's another $30 for a body!?

OK, so it is kinda tough the first time you hit the dirt with a new body and wheels...
