Hey all, after snapping the pullstart on my buggy -.- i took the mill out, and had a go at taking off the cooling head and finally got it!! Anyway, even before i took it off the flywheel is very easy to turn a lot of the way round, and once it gets to TDC there is some resistance which makes it hard to turn but not a lot. Is my engine wearing out? And also, i am going to replace the string in the pullstart, how do you re-wind it??? Thanks.

You want it to be hard to turn at TDC. This is where all the magic happens ;-) It's when this resistance goes away that you need to start thinking about a re-pinch or a rebuild. As far as the pull start though...should just be a matter of getting the string back inside...so if you pull it off you should be able to spin the inside and recoil it. Done it on my lawnmower a bazillion times. RC *should* be the same or close enough.
