RC Driving Style
I was fortunate enough to win one of these engines at a race a couple weekends ago. I don't know very much about them other than that the top two A main finishers were running them.
I had had it in my head that I needed to get a WS7II and am having a hard time adjusting in my mind that this is just as good and engine (maybe even better).
Can I get some comments from some of you that have either ran this engine or seen it run what you thought of it and why it is not more popular when discussions of high end .21 engines come up?
 
Yeah, you'll want to get rid of that. It's a glorified paperweight. I'll forward my address to you as I'm part of an engine recycling program.

Seriously though that's exactly what I chose for my first high-end engine. I haven't even finished breaking it in so I can't tell you first hand my overall impression. I only purchased it because I'd heard great things about it and had the opportunity to see one run last year. Sweet. Plus the intelligent piston sounded like a very good design.

I believe CMB was originally known for their marine engines and have only recently (within the past several years) launched into the surface engines. Hence their perceived obscurity.

So why didn't you ask the guys at the track that were running them what was so great about them?

They were singing the praises of the Raptor all weekend. Unfortunatley we had to come back home and buggy racing here hasn't seriously evolved yet (a couple Ofna's and Storms). I am trying to be on the leading edge so that when the new season comes up I will be able to kick some serious butt.
I must admit that I am a little imtimidated by this engine, this will be the first high end engine that I have broken in, just want to make sure I do it right.
I guess my main point for this post is just to see why when people are buying a high end .21 why they don't seem to look at CMB? Maybe we got the secret weapon and I should shut up! :thumbsup:
 
One can only hope, lol. Of course my driving skills will need some improvement first.
