  1. Bashing
Hey guys,

I got a little extra birthday cash to spend :) So I wanna get some things to help put down the power of my Collari B3 in the X-Term.

Clutch - I hear the stock clutch blows and it seemed ok with the 24.7 but I'm worried the Collari will destroy it. I'm just bashing but I want a decent clutch, don't want to spend for that Werks clutch though. maybe aluminum shoes...idk, jsut something that can handle a Collari.

Tires - Just looking for a long lasting bash tire, so I was thinking the Proline badlands. Any others I should look at?

All of this is going on a X-Terminator Deluxe with a Collari B3, just used for bashing. O, I already put oil in the diffs.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I've had Knuckles before and liked them, but the Badlands look like they would provide even more grip on grass ans stuff.

Ya, if it were for me, I'd get the badlands for grass and rough ground. I'd get the knuckles for smoother surfaces and a little street.

Yea, I'll go with the Badlands, anyone have suggestions on a clutch?

keep in mind, with the badlands, you will greatly stress the clutch. there can be such a thing as too much grip. i belive that its TRC that makes a tire called the "grip" thats made for grass racing in europe. that would be a great tire too. id still consider the badlands, just keep an eye on your clutch temps, and maybe go down 1 tooth on your bell if you plan on running in grass or mud. for clutch the racing setup is mugen aluminum shoes with 1.0 springs, it hooks up great and hits hard, but it will require some maintainance.

Best tyre for grass tracks in the UK used to be MedialPro Turbo Rats. A lot of racers have switched to HoBao Angle Spikes now. Both have similar tread patterns - large spikes.

Grass surfaces are high grip compared to clay/dirt so watch that clutch and don't be afraid to use heavier diff oils. If black teflon shoes are slipping/wearing out too quickly then try the Mugen white teflon shoes, or two teflon shoes and one aluminium shoe.

I really just want a low maintainence clutch that grips decently. Doesn't have to be a race set up, just needs to work and handle the power of the Collari.

turbo sliders seem to hook up really well from what I've seen but they are in that werks clutch price range....

Not trying to hi-jack your thread or anything....but I would like to know if anyone uses those shoes (the OFNA ones in AC's prev. post) w/ the MBX-4 flywheel on their savage (or on any flywheel for that matter) and how they like them.

i use those ofna shoes, and thus far I'm unimpressed. however my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt because i have them in a 9lb truggy, with a top 528 engine, this engines nickname is the clutchmuncher.

try dropping your gear ratio yet?
I was doing the same on my truggy....I finally got sick and did all the mod work so I could run a 65t spur...what truggy are you running?

heh, I'm running a hyper7/jt truggy. it has a 65T spur and I'm running a 12T bell. the engine just has crazy low end, and those bowties provide a whole lot of forward bite.

Hey AC48,
Have you tried the sliding clutch from XTM yet? http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/149596.asp
I put it in my X-term. Seems like it grabs harder than the stock. The way it works there is more clutch contacting the clutch bell. I have never had a racing clutch, so I don't know how it compares. But the kit is $20 and replacement shoes are only $10. Not sure if you can use it with a starter box. The flywheel is smaller.

DAMN that engine is torquey huh......I'm trying to swing one of those novarossi .28 Non-pullstart mill from bruce......any suggestions on which one to get?....my truggy weighs as much as a stripped down revo does so it is LIGHT.....

I would go with the 3 port, the 8 port is a freak, almost too much power to control and its really really really thirsty.
