Two day old rustler vxl. I've wanted one of these cars for awhile. But yesterday there was smoke coming from the rear end. Smelt like a electric motor or a clutch plate I've burned up both in actual cars. Should i just order new parts... motor.. transmission? Or is there something i should check first?

Welcome to the site. I started my morning off with waylon and Johnny cash.

Is this your first car? What battery are you using and are you running batteries back to back?

How tight is your slipper clutch? Does it have a long whine or seem like its not moving at full speed? Take the spuf off with the 7mm(?) tire tool. Are the pads glazed? If they are you can use a rougher sand paper to scuff them up. Tighten the clutch all the way then back it off 1/8 to 1/4 turn.
