ok, i smoked one of my clutch bell bearings, and i can't seem to find them anywhere. i can find the clutchbell and bearings but all i need are the bearings.

does anyone know where i can get some bearings for a hyper 7 8 port on a PBS?

thanks in advance,
Monas

thanks for the advice guys i am going to order probably 6 of the little bastards.

happy bashing!! :hammer:

Hey VB, do you mean blow out the grease on the new bearings? If so, why?

This way the grease doesn't fly out of the bearings and onto your clutch shoes. When that happens it causes excess slippage and with slippage comes heat, which in turn blows up clutchbell bearings. www.avidrc.com has the directions on how to do it. I personally just put the bearings on a screwdriver of the same dementions and blow the grease one way. WOrks well enough for me.

revo you should be taking your CB off after about 1-2 tanks after putting new bearings in and clean the inside of your CB.....you'd be amazed at the crud it attracts....also scuff up the CB wall w/ sand paper again when you do that.....you'll have much better clutch action...snappy

if you want some good info on tips search Corrado's posts....he's got all the good tips....I wish I could go tot the big Penn. bash to get some track time w/ those guys.....running w/ good racers will only improve the level you run at.....

i actually am replacing my clutch and clutchbell as well. i am putting in a mugen 3pole 3shoe clutch. the stock one grenaded on me and melted the bearings. poor buggy has been outta comician for a few months till i had time to get everything to fix it.
i am also changing out the diff grease for 3k, 5k, 1k silicon.
can't wait to get it running. this is going to be a fun weekend!!! :hammer:

I've been running one set of unsheilded bearings for a month now. All you have to do is buy some decent bearings and remove the sheilds. Clean the grease out with WD-40 and compressed air. Some people think its dirt that kills bearings but its not its heat usually caused by the grease that comes from the bearings. With unshielded bearings you should clean them after every race day. You should also shim them with as little play as possible to deter dust particles. With proper maintanance, the bearings will last forever.

interesting theory on the dust getting in but not deteriorating the bearing...let us know how that works after a few weeks of racing
