I was running my Maxx today and noticed that it seems to lose tune quite often. While checking everything over I noticed some slop in the carb slide (seemed loose in the carb). I am thinking this could be causing an intermittent lean condition, but wanted your opinions before I drop the $$ for a new one. The blue dust boot is still in place with no holes in it.

Well if it is loose then it can cause problems like eratic tunning like what you have been having, see if their are any shavings of plastic around the slide carb, I would suggest you going and buy carb body I think they are around $15 .

Tarant - thanks for the info - I just ordered a new carb body. Once I took the carb completely apart to look at it closer I found that the carb was cracked where the slide goes.
