hey guys my car cuts out during half a tank and i dont knw why ?

The more information you can give us on the make, model and engine, the better we can help you.

hey guys sorry its a ts4n plus fairly new

ASG, The tank on the T4, make sure the lid is down tight and that the exhaust line is not pierced anywhere between the tank and the exhaust. You may also want to seal around the swivelling output from the tank that goes to the engine.

Also, check that the stone tank filter is clear from debris. It sounds like you have a lack of exhaust pressure to me, but without having the car in front of me i can't tell you decisively.

BTW, the tank lid is the same as on the EB4 S2 tank should you ever require a replacement. I have a couple spare if you want one and your in the UK (I forget if you are or not)

Oh and once you have the problem sorted out, Tune the engine for half tank running, i do that with all my rigs and it has not let me down yet.

thank you:)
ps yeh I'm in uk ..
btw thunder tiger eb4 if i need to clear debris from the tank filter how do i do it because its quite tight i tried to do it dont knw how to?
i will let u knw if i need a new part thanxs

stick a piece of fuel tubing to the oulet point that usually goes to the carb and inject some fuel down the fuel tube into the tank using a syringe, its about the only way to clean a t/t tank filter.

No need to waste fuel. I wash my tanks in the sink with dish soap and water. Blow thru the fuel line to backwash the internal filters. You could also have a internal leak in the tank. Rare but it does happen.
My first thoughts are it is just too lean, and by the half tank mark it's overheating. All fuel tanks lean out a little around the 1/2 tank mark. Depends on the amount of internal baffling in the tank too. I always add an extra rubber o-ring to the front tank mount to help keep the fuel at the pickup. Seems to help, it increases the angle of the tank.

:first_place: That's actually a pretty good tip, Scrogg. Wish I'd thought of it...

scrogg, i said about a syringe full of fuel, cos we're supposed to avoid getting water in the fuel and the engine...........

I agree with Scrogg. I had a similar problem with my Revo 3.3 when it was new. It ended up being caused by a tune way off base, and being too aggressive on a motor not fully broken in. After about a 1/2 gallon of fuel and following the tuning instructions in this thread,
https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76808
there is almost no difference in my tune at full tank versus near empty.

Was not meant to be contrary...just an alternative. The dish soap breaks down the oils and gunk. Of course you let the tank dry out as well. A tiny amount of water won't hurt a thing on a running engine.

it didnt come across as contrary scrogg, it's just the mere fact that my learning has been to avoid getting water near the inside of the tank or the engine........

It's good to see alternate views and ideas.

if its a tuning problem do wat i did i got a rush evo and even on factory settings it overheated and i would try and try and try and not sucseed at 14:00 i sucseded to sucseed folow these stepd get a load of fuel i used about a quater od a quaut a mate at the outher end of the field and a screwdriver just keep turning it ritch untill the sweet spot comes it took me 2 hours

somthing els if a mate can't hep you dont run to car renember it needs to cool down befor you can start it again

and anouther thing when you rely start to get neer the sweet spot it will take longer and longer to overheat when it does a tank its done dont get going for ages and think its done

when you get through a tank put anouther through just to make sure

hope this helps
