Yes the capacitors are needed. They filter the current from the electric motor so that it does not interfere with your radio. Basically it protects you from glitching everytime you hit the throttle. Hopefully that is clear as mud. LOL

there already are 2 capacitors on my motor but they are both one the same side and my motor does indead interfere with my radio. do I leav the old ones one and just solder my new ones over tehm or do I remove them?
 
you should have 3 capacitors. positive to negative, positive to case, negative to case
 
Remove the old compactors then solider on the new ones as directed by FLM, or you may end up in china!!! LOL!!!
 
crash off the bridge into the river, I'm solely responsible for the classic RCNT derailment of a thread, but how could you miss an opportunity to bring up the time machine lol.
