battery volts for home made glow plug Ignitor

Hi everyone

I'v been having some issues with Ignitors so i have been making my own using D sizes battarys. What i would like to know whats the highest volts i can use with out poping the glow plug? In other words is 6 volts to much

1.5 volts.

Yes 6 volts is too much. The plugs are designed for 1.5V,there's no advantage by adding voltage.

dynamite has a lipo glow ignitor charge it overnight and its good for well over a week the 8th scale buggy racers use them and I had one with my savage I charged mine once about every 3weeks and never had a problem one from it for 25$ its hard to beat unless you goto switch glow

Racer1996 has a lipo glow igniter for sale for a good price. hit him up for it. I have two NiMH igniters, one is designed to hold a sub c cell and the other holds a D cell so I put a 4600mah in the Subc and a 10,000mah in the D cell. Needless to say I dont have problems with those running out
