Hi.
I'll receive my new engine on friday afternoon.
It's an axial .28 spec 1s.

I'd like to know what I'll need to complete the engine for the break-in.

I know that I'll need:
- A flywheel
- Flywheel nut
- Clutch shoes
- Springs

But which one will fit this engine?
I got a 13T and 15T clutchbell so I won't need a new one.

I'll drop it in my OFNA ravager.
But I don't want to use the force .28 stuff, cause I want to keep that engine ready to run (as a spare one).

Thanks!

i love axial engines, i have .28 spec 1s and a .32, i also love SH engines, and i use all my SH stuff on my axial's, like the backplate, starter, flywheel, collet and nut, also any clutch shoes/springs/flywheels for a hpi engine (savage) will work, i have used all of these combinations with great success
this perfect setup to get you going....

Not to spin off on a tangent about my feelings of an axial... but hpinitromt, do you have any tips for someone with an axial that may be having carb related issues?

I have one I bought 2 years ago, ran a gallon or so through it, put it on a shelf for 6 months and it's been junk ever since. Tried many things, sent it back to the mfr, they said it was fine and well taken care of... still no power at all regardless of tune and either runs blubbery rich or screamingly lean at the slightest touch of the screws.

It's been on a shelf for almost a year now... mocking me.

it sounds like you may have a air leak, have you sealed the back plate and carb inlet? and when you stored it, did you take all the fuel out and put after run oil in it?

Thanks a lot for the info!

My LHS should have savage stuff in stock.
Thanks! :D

Hi!

OK now the engine is on the buggy.

I sealed the carb, installed the savage clutch kit, aligned the engine with the spur gear.

I didn't sealed the backplate, I'll do it when I'll remove the pullstarter for a new rotostart back plate (I left it on my force 28 to keep it ready to run.).

Now I got a new question before doing the break in.

Which venturi should I put in the carb?
There's 2 in the box.
The big one or the small one or no venturi?

I also run an axial.28 rr. I had a problem with an air leak at the carb's neck little silicone all better now, i love my axial motor seems to run better at a higher temp than my HB .26 did..

The break in is done :)
Wow! This engine was so easy to break in.
OK that's my 3rd break in, that may help a little bit, but it was so easy to start, not like my force 28 and nitrostar 18.
The engine starts on the first pull almost everytimes.

My brother in law's .21 axe rossi just died and he ordered the same engine (Spec 1S). He can't wait to receive it on friday.
That'll be cool the same engine and almost the same buggy (Ravager and hyper 7)
