Hey guys! I've been looking for a new car (tired of constantly having to repair my outdated and discontinued 1/18 Ruckus) and a Granite MEGA recently became available at my hobby store. I know the guy, very trustworthy. He said it was a stock Granite MEGA with only about 40 hours of runtime on it. I looked it over and everything seems to be in working condition. He even let me test drive it on the carpet track while we were there. He's selling it for $175. My question is: are all (recent) Granite MEGA parts compatible, if I need to repair something, or want to upgrade? (Or if it gets discontinued) Thanks!

I don't own a Granite Mega but I have a Typhon Mega, in all honesty several mods need to be installed.
I'm not sure if parts are all interchangeable however I think I've read somewhere that some parts are.
The Mega version is pretty much low man on the totem pole so to speak.
I think $175 is too much for a Mega version that has 40 hours on it.
I only bought mine just to see how far I could push the limits of the Mega version.
It would be an easy "no" for me.

I would say 40 hours is too much for $175, if he didn't have a bin of spare parts sitting under it, free with car. There were some M2C racing aluminum parts in there, too. Also, I have been spending more time repairing my car than I have driving it.

Spare parts is always a good thing.
I believe @WickedFog has a Granite Mega and has nothing but problems with it,
if I remember correctly.
It's the regular Granite. But yeah. Problem child.

I would urge you to look elsewhere. I own a Granite 3S. It is blowing itself apart quickly.
I have read it can be upgraded to 4s parts and it is better.
My question is, since the 3s is an "ugraded" truck, why didn't Arrma do that?
Horizon and Spektrum make me feel like these are the last products I will own from them.

Hey... wanna buy a cheap 3S Granite???

The right rear tire and wheel passed the truck before everything stopped rolling last time...

The truth is, I haven't fixed it because I bought the truck to run and bash while I upgraded the other 15 cars I have. I wanted something to run so I won't be tempted to run my carbon fiber carpet racers though mud in the back yard.
I had NO intentions of trying to do anything other than run it 'stock' and it failed miserably.
