Weird thing happened yesterday. took the Big Rock out and when I plugged it in there was no audible chimes when it was turned on. I unplugged it, plugged it back in and recalibrated as well as checked all the esc settings. Turned it back on and same thing no chimes, ESC flashed one red light. I put it down and it ran as I would expect. So we let it rip.
I had the motor out recently when I serviced the diffs. Otherwise hadn’t used the truck in a bit.
Next time we run it I will try a reset and see what happens.
Any thoughts??
 
Try doing a factory reset and see if that fixes it. You have your throttle trim at zero when turning the radio on right? I can't find any info on the BLX100 (assuming your ESC is stock) with regards to flashing light sequences and what they mean. Typical for Spektrum electronics.
 
I checked the radio, looks like throttle trim is at zero. We’re gonna try and take it out this afternoon. I’ll do a full reset and keep my fingers crossed
 
It may be a bad ESC, but it's hard to say without finding an actual manual for the ESC. How long ago did you buy it? If it's still under warranty, Horizon will replace it.
 
We did run another pack through it yesterday. I did the reset, recalibrated, and checked all the esc settings and same story. The only thing is when you turn it on the light flashes green one time not red… hey, I get confused.
Bought it in December, I’ll reach out to horizon, email??
 
Well I had contacted Horizon and asked them for a manual, or any info on flashing lights on the ESC, and got this reply.

The Flashing Green light is a Failed Self Test and in most situations will need repair or replacement.

Thanks man, I sent an email to Horizon and we’ll see what they wanna do.
 
Edit: I emailed my LHS and asked for a copy of the receipt on the Big Rock ( I now remember that it was sent through the wash)
Jason at HH asked for it along with a few other details.
 
Horizon is sending out a new esc. They were great about it. Took me a minute to get a receipt, and when I sent it to them with some pictures, i realized that this particular rep only works fri-Sunday. He asked for a video showing the issue also.
Took me longer than it took them, great customer service

I have had great experiences with Horizon's customer service as well.
