I've never even seen a computer before.

Your looking straight at one right now if your reading this lol :p: :spam

Yupp I'm a nerd it sometimes gets annoying when people ask you to fix things. But hey the more expeirience the better. I think its Relaxing to try and figure out a problem with something.

My name is hamz and I'm a nerd. It's been 2-weeks since I last upgraded my CPU. lol

I am medically retired from a major computer manufacturer. Anything electronic, I will fiddle with it. If a computer isn't running right, I'm the who fidgets and twitches until I am allowed to work on it. I am the one who will charge my extended family to work on their computers, since they are not really bright for the most part and tend to download all the trash that I have just removed from their computer immediately after they get it back.

I would not say i am a geek , but I did build my own computer and install the OS and what not, but that is about the extent of it for me, I have a Linksys wireless router that a friend gave me but have no install disk so i can't get it working, routers and net working stuff just baffles me....All I need it for is so my son can get online with his Nitendo DSI using the WiFi conection from the wireless router, any help from the geek squad would be great, it is a WRT54G version 2 if that helps.

plug it up to a cpu that has internet connection and it should download the drivers automatically, if not shouldnt be to big of an issue to pull up the linksys website and get the drivers from there.

my favorite thing is when someone pulls the ps2 plug out while the cpu is on and it burns the ports out. i love it.

i actually helped with the beta port of android on windows mobile devices. after they got "rho-buntu" running well i actually had a dual boot on my tilt 2. it would boot up like a old 286 and make sounds like the disk drives spinning, then ask if i wanted winmo or android. after a little use, i removed that and stayed with winmo, not a android fan.

and woodie... i havent seen a computer in a long time.:hehe:

When I put in line with or in between the modem and the computer I loose the internet and there for have no way to download the drivers, and my buddy that gave it to me said there is a disk that came with it to help with the install, all I can find on the net is a firmware update.:\

had a problem similar to that once ....had to unplug the power of the modem and router ..for a couple hours ..hook your internet wires up ...then plug power back ....thats what i did ..and it worked .....thats what tech support told me to do ....hope it helps

You don't need the disk. Unplug your modem from power if it has a battery backup take it out. Hook up the router and power everything back up. When the get synch with each other try the net. To log into the router type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar this will let you do all of the passwords for wireless. Admin is admin and password is password if they haven't been changed.

I will give it a try when there is some down time on the computer, it stays in use by someone most of the day, LOL!!

OK, so which one of you fellas want to help me figure out why the F my WLAN isn't working? Ah... n/m, got it.
