Ok I just got back from my local hobby store and bought a new servo for my revo. Hitec Programmable HS-5645MG Digital Ultra Torque. I thought it seemed to good to be true at $55. Heres where I'm confused, I think it will work for my revo but it says on the back in fine print which I didnt catch in the store, Requires Hitec Field programmer sold seperatly. What the hell is that. I can't just plug in and play with this one I have to set it up. If thats the case I'm goin to take it back. Somebody help, I'm goin back in that direction in 1 hour or so and could swing back by and return it. Thanks.

It should still work, that programable stuff sets the end points prior to setting them with your radio. I wouldn't worry about it.

Just to clarify in my head what you said Van. Just dont worry about it it should work with out programing.

Ok screw it I'm just goin to give it a shot! Its better than whats on there now I hope lol. One servo glitches and the other makes a crunching noise.

Ok just mounted it up, Works bitchen. Thanks man.

Ok new question though. 2 servos come with the dx3. The metal gear servo is on my race truck as a throttle servo. Theres the other one which I belive has the # 270 on it. Would this work better for a throttle servo then the stock traxxas, the number is higher?

I think the 270 is better then the traxxas 1099 ( i think that what it is) It should last longer as well.

Make sure that you have your steering linkage set up so that it isn't hitting a mechanical limit before the servo stops. Digital servos don't like to have their EPA's set beyond the mechanical limit. It cooks them.

If you have a stock radio, you will need to do this mechanically on the truck somehow by adjusting the linkage and maybe moving the turnbuckle on the servo closer to the servo shaft. If you have a radio that allows you to set EPA's electronically (like most radio's with an LCD screen of sorts), then that makes it much easier.

My guess is that the servo is set to go a full 60 degrees out of the box. On my revo with an airtronics MX3 transmitter, I have the EPA's set to go about 80% in both directions. I have a hitec 985MG. If I set it to go 100%, the wheels stop turning because they hit the arms or just hit something that is on the truck that limits turning, but the servo goes further and really whines about it.
