put alot of work into my revo3.3
complete teardown, i mean down to bare chassis
opened F/R diff's clean inspected re assambled,
cleaned checked every bearing replaced as needed
rebuilt a trans w/ new gears(complete) and bearings, center diff(new)
rear brake kit. new hex's w/ anti roll pins, cleaned and checked motor,
new header coupling rear assembled complete truck............
now the bad news.......went for a test run last night before todays race, heard what sounded like a rod issue, was running low on fuel, thing leaned out under power and WOW lost pinch instantly.
tore motor apart found rod was stretched on the wrist pin side and can push the piston almost completely out of the sleeve through the top of the sleeve..
no big deal right, brand new rod in the parts box, but NO, not a P&S with any pinch was to be found, and at 2am can't just run down to the LHS and pick one up.. So my bad week at work turned into bad weekend with my revo..
Thanks for letting me VENT, i really needed it

Man sorry to hear bout your luck. If it makes you feel better I haven't got run mine in about two weeks. Waiting on the motor to arrive and not a lhs around here. Closest is in Dallas 2 hours away. Not gonna drive there to get a part. Lol. Hope you get her up and going soon.

thanks,
i found a guy that re-pinches the sleeves for like $22 shipped, i figured i would send in the two P&S's that i have and see how well he does, its cheaper than one new P&S, since i have a new rod and wrist pin kit i think i will be ok crank looks good and bearing feel good...
i can't sell anything on here yet due to not enough post , i got some stuff i need to put up for sell as soon as i reach my post min.
i am gonna start looking for a used P&S so i can send in three of them , :)

I'd replace the bearings. Traxxas bearings aren't the greatest. I've heard that good bearings make a good running mill run great.:)

they feel good , but i agree and since its tore down this much, whats a few more parts to make it almost completely new, for me at this point it would still be cheaper for me to re-pinch and new bearings VS. getting a complete brand new mill

any pref on which brand bearing's?
found traxxas bearings for $27 or should i be looking at a different brand
gonna be making an order soon going to do all the o-rings and bearing

i never ordered from them ...but I've seen that name come up often in the forum ;) ...sounds like they are good

Man let me tell you +1284916835. I have a Picco .26 red dot max that is almost brand new. Well I was having issues with the temp just randomly climbing even after sealing. I got the first set of ceramic bearing from Boca and all my issues stoped. It starts idles and runs at temp just like the day or weeks before. $38ish will save you a ton of headaches. I just dont get why these comp's use such crappy bearings.

And if you look at TKO bearings they make some of the clutch bell bearings and a couple others in sizes like 5x10x4 and 5x11x4. They are ceramic and you can get 2 of them shipped for $7.50. takes about a week or so to get to NC from them.
