i want to get a new air filter for my revo 3.3. i wanted to know what air filter you guys recommend! i already got the resonator and then the air filter is next, after that what do you guys recommend i do next for my revo! i want to gain power! thanks guys

You wont really gain power from air filters, but motorsaver offers some of the best protection for nitro motors.

I like the Motor Saver filters, they seem to allow the motor to breath a little easier, just like with the exhaust change, you'll need to make tuning adjustments when you switch to an MS air filter.
You can change the CB (clutch bell) and spur gear to get more power also.

i was thinking about taking the one off my cobra!

Good Plan! :)

Back to the question. I use Motorsaver on all my trucks and love them. Ofna makes a 1/8 scale generic one you could use also. I use it on my Jammin CRT

Stupid question time, sorry... Is " MotorSaver" a brand name ? or are you talking about a Good quality air filter. The fella at the local hobby shop told me my Revo stock filter is "Junk", and I should get an Integy High Flow Filter. It was pretty cool looking so I bought it. Is this a good filter with a comprimise of Power with good engine life ? Thanks, and sorry to change the subject (sort of)

motorsaver's air filter are great!
and MadKawi650 to answer your question yes MotorSaver is a brand of air filter and no worries its not a stupid question

motor savers are a brand name, but most people refer to the cylinder type foam filters with the outer filter cover as a "motor saver". they are good filters which alow more airflow while still keeping the really small stuff out of your engine. just make sure you use filter oil on it if it hasnt been oiled already, and every time you wash the filter re oil it.

the stock revo is a pretty peppy truck but since you bought it second hand there is no telling how much use or abuse the stock mill has had.

you could regear for more take off or top end depending on what you feel your lacking.
making the truck ligher will in effect make it faster and handle better
a good tune will always help
check your clutch and make sure the shoes are good. if your clutch is slipping it will make the truck slow and run hot
you can contact traxxas and exchange your engine for a new one so you can start with a fresh mill for a small fee

good luck, and great choice on a first truck!!

Thanks for the info.

The clutch should be good. I just installed a new clutch bell, shoes and spring. I also replaced the 38t steel spur gear with a 40t plastic. (I wanted to have a weak spot untill I got used to driving it properly)

My new Integy High Flow filter seems fine. I thought I had the tune pretty good untill I put the filter on. It seems to be lowing lots of Blue, but it chokes when I stog it from Idle of just above idle. ( It idles great )

Sounds lean on the LS jet doesn't it ???
