66FT no-prep drag racing

TRX Blue Streak was locked and cocked for yesterday's Round 2 run off in the 33ft no-prep street legal event. But, regrettably, she came up short. Not because of prep. But because its driver (me) was too conservative bumping up against the break-out speed of 21.90mph.

Blue Streak laid down back-to-back runs of 21.26 and 21.46mph. Off pace to Senton's 21.89mph. Data was there for a victory, I just didn't dial in enough THR to lay down a challenge. Better luck next time. Blue Streak hooks up well and goes straight. She'll get a win light soon.

P-L Street Fighter rear tires and JC Concepts Otagons up front proved a good tire combo for no-prep street legal event - which requires a tire have visible tread. Battery end voltage of the 2s x 6000 130C HV shorty 8.34v. Lots left in the tank there as well. -AC

"Ayatollah of Rock 'n Rolla" Rustler takes the win in today's finals run off. Recorded a best of two runs 21.82mph against a 21.90mph break-out at the 33ft Street Legal RC Drags. That betters the Senton 2WD run of 20.98mph earlier in the week.

Senton still comes away with track record of 21.89mph on a 21.90mph break-out from round one of the event. Braggin' rights and an extra 5 points to boot.

Thanks, Mike. Yeah, regret seeing this event end. It was a lot of fun. Would've liked to have gotten drone images of the runs.

Have a 66ft ProComp event brewing on the back burner, complete with a buy-back round for first-round losers. No-prep slicks and 42.90mph break-out speed.

Special RC Rallye event scheduled for April. And with the move and all may not get in the next drag event until mid-late summer.

Thanks, Kevin. Breaking news. The other two cars in class filed a protest against the front tires. RD disallowed it but offered up the caveat it met the letter of the rules (it had tread), but not the spirit of the rules. As it stands now, it's on appeal. RD forwarded it to national for final adjudication.

I love protesting myself. Brings a new dynamic to the fun.

Oh, and yeah, have a new banner in mind with a racetrack name of "Heartland RC". Now UTRL will have two member tracks. Nationals runoff anyone?

Ha. LOL, Kevin. Thanks. Issue resolved by the Competition Committee. Rusty's win stands. But with the caveat it submit an update image to RD and CompCom spec'ing wheel and tire combo for use in next 33ft no-prep.

Selected the classic P-L Road Rage already mounted up to a pair of JConcepts 'Tense' RR wheels for the fronts. That gets her well with spirit as well as the letter of the rule.

Using the ROAR protest form for my write-ups so can remember what transpired for next time. Thanks for looking in. Cheers. -AC
