RC Driving Style
alright so to start off I'm new to the nitro rc world
i bought a t maxx 2.5 a few months back and managed to split the conectiong rod almost in two. i just ordered a 3.3 for it and was wondering if there are any MAJOR upgrades i should do to the rest of the truck? i was also wondering if my 2.5 exhaust will hook up to the 3.3 and run alright?
any advice will be helpful
thanks

The 2.5 and 3.3 engines use the same exhaust header, you will want to upgrade (eventually) to the DC resonator pipe and the 3.3 spec air filter to get better performance out of the 3.3
Upgrade other parts as you break them.

Thanks. That was my plan on doing. But I just figured id make sure that there wasn't anything that was going to break right off the bat

bulkheads normally snap really easy so that will most likey be the first broken. so aluminum bulkheads now or after it breaks is a good idea

id put some rpm a arms on there...they are much more durable than the stock arms...and like tmaxxman said some aluminum bulk heads...i broke mine pretty quick...i did hit a tree WTFO though so i guess you could just not crash...lol...but i will say if id had the aluminum bulks when that happened it would have probably destroyed the chassis aswell...it bent it a little even though the plastic bulks took most of the force...

You will replace drive shafts but like snook said buy what you break I reccomend dogbone style if you only wanna replace them once.

Outside of the aluminum bulkheads and driveshafts/dogbone ugrades. You should be fine. Like snook said replace as it breaks after those 2 items. The arms are nice from rpm but I have yet to snap any stock arms. Broken my fair share of bulkheads (now aluminum) and driveshafts/dogbones (now MIP center and all 4 corners). If it aint broke why replace it? But than again if it aint broke you havent driven it right!!:)

u guys got a lot more faith in the factory arms than me...trust me dude...at least go ahead and get them to have on hand if you can swing it...the stockers will snap like a twig with a good impact....

Dont forget to replace the conrod in the 3.3 with a davis desal conrod...or u should have went with a picco .26 great investment.....the 3.3 rods split to

aluminum bulk heads are an amazing investment 3rd day with a stock emaxx split the truck in two right at the bulkheads

I would get a THS pipe and manifold first. I think as time goes on you're gonna want to convert to 3.3 spec diffs and axles etc, so be careful which 2.5 specific upgrades you buy.

I would buy the upgraded driveshafts now. I've seen a 3.3 eat up 2.5 driveshafts like crazy. Twist like a candy cane stripe:whhooo:

Don't do that ^^ without upgrading to 3.3 spec axle carriers, or else you'll be stuck with 2.5 shafts when you realize the 2.5 carriers suck.

My first day, just yesterday with my new 3.3 I blew the rear differential.
