2.5 starts, runs and dies...

Howdy yall,
So i baught my tmaxx 2.5 used on CL. Its my first nitro car and I'm just learning so any advice would be greatly apperciated. So far I've replaced the glowplug, spur gear, feul lines, and a arms. The truck is full of fuel and with the use of my easy start2, it fires up every time and runs pretty good. The problem i am having is that it seems to drive on its own with no throttle aplied. I hit the brakes, it stops. I hit the trottle, it dies. So my question; does this seem to be a tuning issue, do i just need to warm it up longer before touching the throttle, or could it be something else intirely?

If you bought it used, I would re-set your carb needles to factory settings and retune from there. 4 turns out counter clockwise from closed for the high speed needle, flush with the slide body for the low speed needle and 1.0mm gap for the idle screw (adjust the idle with the brakes applied). Maybe this will get you going and at least give you a strating point to work with.

thanx ant tuning the carb back to stock fac spec worked out just fine. had a full day off bashing at the local skatepark today and it ran so good i broke front lower a arm, bulk head, and both shocks lol id dut pics up but cameras fried.

Also make sure the throttle linkage is setup properly. You can find instructions on traxxas .com.
