I am putting an OS 18 tm in my t maxx 2.5 and wanted to kno some suggestions on slipper clutches. I looked at part number 5351x I believe it is and it looks good but not sure how the OS 18 will like that with all the low end torque and a 72 tooth spur gear. I have read u need to slot the chassis or motor motor mounts to use the revo slipper. Anybody with experience with this let me kno how the 72 tooth works or how big of a pain the revo spec would be. Thank u guys!

You could simply gear up the clutch bell with the 72T spur and tame the torque.

If you want to use the Mod 1 Revo spec spurs or the Mod .8 TMaxx 3.3 spec on the torque control slipper upgrade you will have to slot the engine mounting holes to move the engine backwards a few MM’s to have full contact of the clutch bell and spur gear front to back.

Torque control slipper with included 72T spur. Notice how close the spur is to the slipper pads.

Revo spur gear mounted on the torque control slipper. Note how far away from the slipper pads the spur sits. The difference is the amount you would have to slot the chassis for a correct mesh.

Or you could make a custom engine mounting plate like I did:)

Wow! Thank u. Looks like the 72 it is! I'm sure I could do it but after seeing how clean yours looks I don't Wana shame myself lol. Is the only difference the spur gear being cupped? What size clutch bell would u suggest?

One other question and I may just call traxxas tomorrow but why does the 72 tooth slipper clutch set up come with a new primary gear?
