15FE or 12R SS

I just started out in this hobby with a RS 4 that came with a 15FE, after about a month or so of learning how to contol the car I felt I needed more speed so I bought a 12R SS because HPI claims it pumps out 1+ HP. @ 3500rpm. But I really can't tell if it is any faster then the 15FE. Now it seems as though I need a faster engine !(I Feel The Need For Speed). What would be the next engine I can put in my RS-4 that would satisfy my need for a little more speed.

Have you tried putting a 2 speed in yet? That will help a lot! The .12R is way faster. Are you sure you have it broke in all the way. When you set it up did you test to see if the throttle opens completely when you have the trigger fully grabbed? Is it tuned rich? I just cannot beleive you can not see a speed increase as the FE is SO mild!

Yep, it's broken in, correctly, with about 6 tanks at a rich setting, and I put the 2 speed in with the 15FE along with a header and pipe. I ran the 12R SS rich and lean, but it seems like there is a fine line when I lean it out, it kind of sputters a bit at top end. But it's not that lean where I'm not leaving a small smoke trail, so I richin it up a bit to get the sputter out. But with the 2 speed and the exhaust is that the most I'm going to get?. It just seems like there is a lot more engine to give but the gears won't let it go. I also changed the clutch. I don't know where to go from here?

If you only have 6 tanks in it then thats it. The engine will get faster up to a gallon ruffly. Keep burning fuel through it and you will see it get a lot faster. I have run 2 quarts through my Sirio and every tank it gets quicker.
