I use orange loctite on my pinions that have 2mm set screws. Holds a bit better than blue, but not as permanent as red. On 2.5mm set screws, I use red, but then I use heat to remove them just in case. Also, to get them tight enough, you really need a good wrench. An cheap allen key isn't good...
