    Hobbywing's 4000KV motor that came with the Max10 SCT was unusable on 3s in my 4x4 Slash, even geared down. Too much heat, not enough oomph.

    Like the guys already said more or less, you need a lower KV motor and LiPos. 3000ish KV is what you usually find in 1/10 4WD trucks.
