So being new to nitro, I didn't have anything nitro specific. LOL!
I ordered some goodies which will be arriving very soon.
New TX and RX.
20% nitro
glow starter
fuel bottle
glow plug spanner
hump pack battery.
Shees. Can't wait to get her started.
Yeah initially the guy sold it as a Hyper 7. Then I was told it was a TQ. Cool. Then after more googling, I see it's the TQ sport v1. But I can still find parts, which is good!
I had a choice of a GS Storm Buggy, but I cannot find parts for it ANYWHERE! :D
Also can't find much info on...
Thanks man!
It's a Hobao Hyper 7 TQ Sport. I think it's the v1 of the TQ if I judged correctly by the battery box on it on videos. I think the TQ2 had a closed battery box. But that is all I could see on the YT. :)
So after some cleaning and whatnot, she is looking much much better.
Some things I did:
1. Took the tank off and gave it a clean inside and out.
2. Took the exhaust and manifold off and cleaned them. Also the white rubber hose thing connecting the exhaust to the manifold.
3. Cleaned between...
FINALLY! She arrived!
Only problem I can see on the car is the pipe from the airfilter to the carb that is torn. I say torn, because the rubber is still very flexible and not brittle. :)
Jeepers. What a mission to get the car to me.
Floods recently hit our province. So my the who was coming down here for a holiday cancelled his trip.
Luckily my cousin was going to his parents and him driving through the town where the car is located, he picked it up for me last week. But he...
@Maximum_Quake_Pro.com, do you know if this site is legit?
http://eshop.hobao-racing.com/
I see if I order parts there for the car, shipping is only $10 (very acceptable to SA) and the parts are not badly priced (I think).
Thanks man. Yeah if I need from overseas I will have to do that. :) And thanks for the offer.
Just trying to arrange a courier to collect the car. The town the guy lives in still has dirt roads between the houses. No couriers there for him to ship it. lol.
Yeah. I don't have a hobby shop in my town. But there hobby shops in SA which I order from.
I can't even look at ebay or other places as the shipping to SA is mega expensive! :(
So if we buy RC's here, we need to make sure the LHS stock the parts. lol.
Thanks for the candid advice.
Hmmm. For $80 I might get it and decide to drop another engine into it later on. But for now I will be just be messing around with it. :)
Cool thanks for the tip.
School me a bit on the differences between the Hyper and the TQ? :)
Both are Hobao correct? Is it still ok to buy for that price?
Right....so I found a new RC. Hobao Hyper 7 nitro for $80. The car is running but missing transmitter and receiver (no big deal). The chassis underneath looks clean. No scratches. Car looks clean. The guy is cleaning out his collection.
Any comments on the Hyper 7? I can still find parts for it.
So I found some really nasty RC's from a guy selling.
1 x Tamiya TNX (engine does not turn over)
1 x Nanda Raptor (engine does not turn over)
1 x Savage X (no engine)
I would have taken either the Nanda or Tamiya if parts are available, but alas, my LHS does not stock Nanda spares and cannot...
