It's because the RC was never designed to withstand what you do to it. And the metal plate is aluminum so how much does it really weigh? And you can do a piston, rod, and cylinder for just what I said.

The Losi is probably the best one (and expensive). The Tmaxx is the one to have. I've had a bunch of everything and the Traxxas are the best I've had for beating up. (I presently have a 3.3 Revo for my main truck). They are kind of disposable and parts are as cheep as dirt to buy or replace...
