Well, got er done. Didn't come out quite right, I tried to make the hood scoop and wing a darker tone by backing it with black vs chrome on the lighter parts, but the metallic orange was too opaque to make much difference. In hindsight, I had some regular orange that would have been perfect...
There's no painting over these like masks and keeping the detail.
It's fine really, I luckily have properly oriented N301 and DR stickers from another set, so it's just the main logo that will be backwards, and it's not really worth waiting for another set even. My wife said nobody is gonna...
Small changes to paint scheme.
Got it masked up last night after my logo decals arrived. The logos came backwards. Sigh. Screw it. Not waiting 2 more weeks to finish this, letters looks like a deathmetal band anyway, nobody gonna know the difference :D
I've been reworking all of my (4) cars this offseason, and this one was last on the list. I put the OS .21 tm from Hissed Off in here, updated a few parts using stuff from other cars that I discarded. It's a little heavier, but still a light car, and with that engine it is a rocket. I'm going...
I worked on this bugger some more. I had ordered these STRC arms for the Invader, but went a different route, so I figured what the heck, stick them on this car. The bulkhead is still resin, so that would be the part to break if it hits anything hard.
I also fixed the rocker panels that I...
I shoulda updated this a while ago - but in my drag racing thread I probably posted this pic of what happened after my noob brother in law pulled a "Sam" and put straight into a curb at full throttle (we call it a "Sam" because that's his dad's name who put his truck through the front window of...
Normally my wife would be taking vids, but she left her phone at her parents house on the way to the spot and she gets confused with my phone for some reason.
Ran this car a BUNCH yesterday at team list race. This little car shocked the living hell out of me! Don't let anyone tell you a cheap ole Dynamite .19 isn't a hell of an engine! The car was a little on the wild side, definitely had to drive it, rarely had a straight pass, but it was putting...
You know what's interesting about that...the law says cars must run on electricity OR hydrogen. Well...all modern ICE cars can already run on hydrogen :) Has anyone told Gavin Newsome yet that his law has a technical loophole? LOL.
Now, I wonder, if a two stroke nitro can run on hydrogen...hmmmm
It's like that most places - but nitro no prep is gaining momentum. It's been pretty big in the South for a few years, starting with the Jato scene and now these guys are building Slash-based SE cars. Where I'm at in the DMV we've got something brewing, there's a couple of nitro SE groups that...
Not likely - my focus is solely on nitro and creating a competitive platform/formula in no prep racing. Currently there are no dedicated nitro SE chassis out there other than the Traxxas Nitro Slash, and it's limited to how competitive it is due to its drivetrain (small block, single speed).
I'm gonna have at least one chassis on eBay in a week or two. Two of them I have sold already to team mates, but I've got two more to put together for the general public. After that I'll be putting together about five or six per month as I sell them and order more parts/materials with the returns.
Replaced the FDM printed pieces with soft resin printed pieces. Ran the car a bunch yesterday, it is a sleeper :)
Little Dynamite .19 is a sneaky fast engine.
Car held up fine, though if I were building a full slider/roller for anyone I'd just buy the cheap stock parts, lotta work to...
Well this car is done :)
Haven't yet fired it up, hopefully in a few days, as I had my own health issue to deal with and am supposed to be taking it easy for a week (I will be fine, caught and fixed the problem before it caused a more serious problem).
