    You have to put the charger in LiPo mode which is different from BAL or balance mode in order to charge without the balance port hooked up

    Yes, it's not easy, but doable if you are careful. Just need to pry the case apart knowing that it will be slightly damaged and you'll have to tape it back together after making the repair. Here's a sample of one I did: How to repair LiPo pack
