So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Great place for a track, Rusty. All that open land. To die for. Looks like there are couple of off-camber corners to making laps interesting. When on a roll, keep rollin'. Did a throw down with another truck on the backyard scrambles track yesterday. DragSpec Rustler this time with a set...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Thanks, Alan. Yep. The UTRL version of the famed IndyCar brickyard. For the tri-oval, moved the front straight in away from the fence and concrete splash pan for the downspout. That leaves one flagstone kinda hanging out there on its own. Think someday I'm lay in some smaller bricks along...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Cut laps on the backyard tri-oval grasstrack. Slapped a set of GrassSpec tires on the DragSpec Senton 2WD. Fronts held the turns and rears hooked up well. JConcepts SCT Carvers up front and Choppers on the rear. Wheels are ARRMA black chrome SCT 14mm hex. Run sequence is 10 laps turning...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

RC focus for me is drag racing now. Still need a grasstrack outback, though. Cut a tight tri-oval today and ran laps with the MT10X. This will justify me having all those off-road tires in the basher box.

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

First test for the upgraded Outlaw no-prep DragSpec Rusty. New course length. 66ft. (1/10 scale 1/8 mile). Needs work. She'll come round.

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Disappointing day for the 106R. Changing out the 27T 540 brush for a 27T 550 made little to no difference in its 33ft abysmal speed. Sux. Guess some RC days out are like that. "Face it grasshopper, Rusty needs more motor. . .", says my alter ego. Time to stop embarrassing Rusty. Weather...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Yikes, Mr. GW. Seeing more than a few of these images of broken Senton chassis. Notice ARRMA does have an aluminum frame for the Typhon. Wondering if that might be a back-fit for the Senton chassis? Used a few Typhon parts in my conversion of a Senton SCT to a buggy.

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

March the TRX Rustler 106R gets full attention. Leaning forward in the saddle, got a head start today validating the 33ft street legal drag set up before beginning changes and testing. Speed, of course, is understandably slow. 27T 540 brush motor geared low at 19/83 // 4.23 and carrying 67oz...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

February's been a dreary month for RC running. When it hasn't been cold, it's been raining. Every time the sun broke through long enough to dry the grass, have had the MT10 out tire testing. Set up a test circuit based on quarter horse barrel racing format. Good quick and dirty test for...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

MT10 backyard bash. Took off the Belted Trencher MT's and put on a set of Gladiator SCT's. Ran a pack through on the 3in tall grass stubble. Plan was to try them on an interim basis until deciding on a replacement MT tread for the ultra-weighty Trenchers. Ended really liking the performance...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

What R/C did I run today? None. But tried twice. Does that count? Sunny and clear sky. Temp sitting at 69edgF. Ideal for a speed run set with the Senton 2WD. Except the wind was a steady 20mph, gusting to thirty plus. I measured out the run course but the wind kept blowing the cones...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Thanks, X. MT10 will be going up against either the fastest or the slowest of the ladder. Depending on which one prevails. MT10 places in the middle of the group. Either way, it'll be a good go. 'AC'

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

MT10X made its prelim run in the 3-car pro ladder today. One solid run of 27.01mph on its 27.96mph dial-in. The other run coming in at a break-out speed of 30.20mph. Where the heck that came from, who knows? Both showed strong wheelies first part of the run. That advances it to the finals...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

MT10 did a test run on the backyard 33ft (1/10 scale 1/16mi) grass drag strip. Don't have the required 66ft shutdown, so am limiting runs to 60% THR setting. Shut down is 33ft and am leaving a patch of tall grass at the end as a safety 'catch net'. Have built a bracket ladder for the next...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

MT10 in rally mode (again). It's a stretch, I know. :D Anyway did a RC simulation American Rally Association (aka ARA) Souther Ohio National/Eastern Regional scheduled for this coming weekend. It covers 197km, so did the 1/10 conversion and came up with two 19lap stages. It's run over...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Wow, baka, I'd call that a big time take over of that docking area. To die for an area like that. Here in Houston, almost all docking areas are fenced, gated and topped with razor wire with no access even if I could get permission to run there. You were running your 'Pede in the "marbles" -...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

R/C runnings been on a pause here lately. Been a rash of intersection, street and parking lot takeovers by the 1:1 drift groups. Some social media organized; some ad hoc. LEO's really beginning to crack down with arrest's, charges and impounding of cars. Call me paranoid, but all I'd need is...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

Found an absolutely primo spot for RC speed runs on grass. Local Lions club. One hardball field and two softball fields. Hardball outfield will support 132ft timed runs. Softball outfield, 66ft timed runs. That's with controlling the run from the center, so overall 264ft and 132ft level and...

So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

[quoting Xraycer] 'Love the paint scheme on that body!' Ha. Thanks, X. It's a splinter scheme repro from a full-size desert racer. Professionally painted. I call it the 'Apocalypse ST.' Didn't know it when I commissioned it, but it has the colors of the four horsemen of the apocalypse...
