I use q-tips to get into tight spots. I don't like hard tools for decalling. They tend to push the glue around and cause the decal not to stick.

Look at this vid 4 minutes in. This is how I apply all my decals. Mark does a really good job applying decals. Check out some of his other vids for some good tips to make life easier.

I know what you mean about stickers. I really hate them, and getting a project to the point of needing to apply the decals puts me in slow mode. I have gotten pretty good at it though. It is just tedious work cutting them out sometimes that I hate. My eyes just aren't what they used to be.
