Been a pretty cool little trick for some time now. I have stripped chrome off all kinds of stuff with it. If you have an ultrasonic cleaner it works even better.

Try Super Clean from Walmart. If you can get enough of it to submerge an area of the body, it might work. It strips chrome from plastic parts in no time. It completely dissolves it back down to bare plastic.
