A nitro car could go a mile out and back. My Jato would do about 60 mph (I am guessing here). So a 2 mile distance would only take a couple minutes. And it would run quite awhile longer than that when I was doing speed runs in the huge parking lots in Indy.

Yeah, I had an old Futaba Jr that had some good range, but nothing close to a mile. The DJI stuff will go much much farther than a mile, so it's not hard to do. I think the Mavic 2 Pro will go out to 6 mile range? But the battery will be long gone before you get there. I have seen 3.5+ mile...

FPV ;) To get that kind of range you are probably going to be looking at joystick type tx's for rc aircraft. I don't know of any car tx's that would have that kind of range. You are surely going to be doing FPV on this because you can't see an RC car that is a mile away. So your VTX and goggle...
