New Tool Stand in the Works

DO IT! Ok, the bit holder is done. It turned out great! I am pretty stoked about this whole thing. I will probaly reprint the base of this eventually when I buy an M12 drill. One of the nice things about the Shoe Goo is I can yank these pieces off the base and glue them onto a different base.

Added a side unit to this stand that will hold my M12 tools. Currently printing the last piece for this side unit that will hold the rotary tool bits. Will post some more pics later on today.

My worst thing is masking and painting. Back when I was younger I loved it. But now my eyes are so bad it is a pain in the butt. I have 3 painting projects I need to finish. Every time I start working on them I get too frustrated and move on to something else. Tomorrow, one of them is getting done!

Yeah, I pretty much hate myself every day 😜

I get the same way. I have about 5 projects besides this one that I keep putting off because I am just not feeling it right now. It goes in stages 😉

If you ever need help, shoot me a PM and I will get you my number. You can call any time. I worked with CNC machines for 25 years. 3d printing for 6. It's not hard to get them up and running smoothly. Learning the software is the hardest part, and even that is fairly simple.

You can't really go wrong with any of them. They each have their own pros and cons. I would go with the V2. It has the new display and glass print bed. It is a 24v system, so the bed will heat up quickly. The Pro is a nice printer, with the removable build plate, but I prefer a glass build...

The printer comes with Cura, but it will likely be a really old outdated version. It is free and can be downloaded online. I personally prefer Simplify 3D. It is a bit over $130 last time I looked, but well worth it to me. This software takes your 3d model and generates the program the printer...

New Tool Stand in the Works

I'll tell ya what - that would be a very awesome outcome. Kids that could get into this early on - man, that would teach them so many useful skillsets. I have tried very hard without pushing to get my kid some experience with 3d modeling, but he wants nothing to do with it if it doesn't have a...

You can get one better than mine for less than $250. It won't be as big as the one these are printed on, but it has a few more upgrades over my old dinosaur. Oh... don't look at this Grey 😉 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GYRQVYV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_AZCFERGBHJ4JD7JY5EAP

Working on the inserts for the pliers. This modular design lets me move things around, and change things later on if I buy different tools. This shows the internal pocket structures. The little holes are in these to pull the inserts out if I need to change things up. Sanding for a snug fit...

New Tool Stand in the Works

I am the same way. I have a Kennedy toolbox in my RC room, and every time I start a project I have to go to the toolbox and get everything out that I think I will need. It always means more trips. My bench is setup for me and my kiddo to work at, so no way to get the toolbox within reach. I...

New Tool Stand in the Works

1st post in this thread has been updated. Moved the nutdrivers to a separate piece and made a slot for my turnbuckle wrench and some miscellaneous pockets. Printing now.

New Tool Stand in the Works

Thanks! I have the plier box done. Just going to keep all pics in first post here. I have two more holders on the printer for all my hex drivers, nut drivers, and Tamiya screwdriver set. Also adding a Wiha magnetizer and a little holder front and center for the little lug wrench that comes in...

Yeah, but there are many more options available, and a lot nicer stuff than just the metal hooks and plastic boxes. If you ever watch RC Driver on YT it is what he has on his walls. If I still had a garage, I would do the entire inside with it.

I am actually considering a slatwall like this... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F8ZBFRY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_JAAA98BB4S89DG7HKDXM

New Tool Stand in the Works

I looked into pegboard options, but living in an apartment kinda limits me as to what I can do. I have been here for 6 years though, and will likely be here for a lot more, so I still think I am going to try to find something to mount to the wall above my bench. I have a shelf above me too, so I...

New Tool Stand in the Works

That is what I have been going through. My Kennedy roll-around houses all my tools, but everything is in its own case, pouch, etc. Such a pain. I have been wanting something to hold everything I normally use on my bench for quick access, and after looking at all the options out there I decided...
