    On my builds, I didn't add a Rx housing but I see what you mean.

    Any Spekrum DSMR receiver will work because the DX5 is DSMR so as long as it is then you won't have a problem. Three of my 1/24 scale crawlers have Spektrum recievers. A bit tight in there but they do work. Welcome back to the hobby @godale03
