Right, you've said that before 😀 Just beware of those "Only ridden twice" bikes that have been absolutely abused, like blown bottom brackets, bent mech hangers, ect. But I'm happy that you got it all working!

Nice! Be careful of second hand bikes, do a good inspection before buying or bring an experienced buddy like @HPIguy along (just an example, probably not worth having him fly in to do that LOL)! Will you be making a build thread on it? Also, check out this YT channel called KevCentral, I've been...

Took me a second to get that joke, being the "spring chicken" I am!

I've stripped the inside threads on a rotary tool's bit shank, so the cutting disk, which was secured by a little screw, just spun freely, completely useless. I decided in the end to just super glue the hole assembly together, shank, screw, and cutting disk, and hoped that the superglue would...

That sucks man! When a tool breaks during a project, it's extra frustrating! Your story reminded me of one of my friends, about two months back, he and his family were trying to rig up one of their RC plane radios or something to their TV/game system so he could try a flight simulator, the plug...

I've always wanted to know, what exactly is a "cush gear"/"cush drive" system? Is it some kind of slipper, center diff system? Oh no! Wha' happened-oh, wait, you don't know! What printer is it? Also, how many printers do you run, Kevin? I've heard the Prusa MK3s (I think) are really reliable...

Oh no, the right front A-arm is bent and cracked! I knew an, uh, aggressive encounter with a tree on 6s couldn't have only busted an upper tie-rod! Hope you can get it all fixed soon, does your trusty dog wrench with you? :)

The "what you broke today" thread.

Uh, how is there a whole chunk of the diff output cup that's just gone?! Looks like part of the cup just got sheared off somehow, I'm thinking maybe when you hit that tree real hard, the whole right front A-arm assembly flex back, and the shaft of the right front CVD angled back as a result, and...

Oh no! You got the new Sledge, huh? You might be one of the first on the forum to get it, and probably the first on the forum to break it! I actually haven't seen any YTers break it yet, looks like you'll need to a new upper "tie-rod", and you'll be back in action! Is the bolt that attached the...

Did you get some RPM A-arms for "the silence"? 🤣🤣

Was the shock shaft screwed in all the way? Must've been a nasty crash that did it, were you running your Typhon on 3s, or did you use 4s? 🤔🤣 It's supposed to be built for a rig that has twice the power! Sounds like the motor may be toast, or the bearing failed/seized like @pug said, or maybe...

Just find someone who's VERY cold and introverted, one look and those gears will be indestructable! I'd like to say I know people like that (or do I want to?), but (luckily?) I don't! Exactly! If everything on your car is beefed up and hardened steel, aluminum, ect. you'll start to break...

The "what you broke today" thread.

That could have been real bad, thankfully that wasn't a LiPo! I'm never messed with RC robots before, never owned one, but could you get an RC ESC and receiver, and just plug all the servos and stuff into the receiver (AKA RX)? If the servos and motors don't have the right plugs, try adapters...

I thought 17mm hexes were mainly used on 1/8 scale cars and heavy duty 1/10 scales! The Xmaxx is supposedly a 1/6 scale though. 🤷‍♂️ I assume in order to run 24mm hexes you'd need to do some mods and fabrication, other than just switching hexes? That might work, I was gonna say try grinding a...

The "what you broke today" thread.

Oh, cool! Wait, the Xmaxx has a 24mm hex? You're probably laughing right now, going "Of course it does!", but that's the kind of thing that someone who doesn't own an Xmaxx won't know from watching YT videos! 🤣🤣 How come they don't fit, is the drive cup too big?
  16. The_RC_Dude

The "what you broke today" thread.

Ok. I did a quick search, apparently they get their name from the "six pack" central tread pattern. Was there supposed to be a "gave" in there, like "...I have gave up trying to get them on my...."? Are you using upgraded drive cups, or does the Xmaxx come with metal ones stock?
  17. The_RC_Dude

The "what you broke today" thread.

Whoopsie! Six pack tires? What're those? I know that Treal makes some aluminum diff housings, but more to the point, someone make theses little drive-cup-stiffener things that "prevent" the drive cups from breaking, I'm gonna see if I can find the link to those parts...ok, found it turns out...

The "what you broke today" thread.

Ok, so usually I don't break a lot of stuff, especially RC stuff as I'm a more cautious, "take it slower" kind of driver for multiple reasons (less breakages, less repair money, less cleaning, less electronic heat, ect.). However, I do break other non-RC stuff. You said that we could post any...
