    I never tried that method. But like @Tunedpipe said easy off over cleaner. It work just as fast if not faster. Shoot, all you do is put parts in metal container that will allow part to be covered. Spray easy off cleaner in pot until covered let sit for 10 - 15 mins wipe off then wash. Or wait...
