I'd just get a good high torque metal gear servo. I have an SW1210SG that's about all you'd ever need.

That's odd. Wonder if you fuel Drew some moisture somewhere along the way?

I've not run it, but I want to. only reason I don't is because I can't get it locally.

It's been years since I've run it, but Traxxas fuel gave me fits. I switched to O'Donnell's abd it helped. Now I just run Byrons Gen 2 20%

@cbaker65 I'm pretty sure he's talking about the slipper clutch pads.

Any steel spur requires a hardened clutchbell, I believe. http://www.robinsonracing.com/catalog/revo33.html I don't understand why they don't have a page for the Slayer. But there's also a couple spur clutchbell combos. Tower carries them as well.

Indeed, that's how you learn. When you get ready, get a Robinson Racing Gen 3 slipper unit. It's more expensive than a Traxxas unit or even a simple steel spur gear would be, but it's miles ahead of the traxxas unit. Just be aware that when you do you'll have to get a hardened clutchbell as well.
