Welcome to forum noahsark. Looks like you have the same engine I have.
This company is kind of strange. They have a website but it's not interactive and it's mostly train related.
If you want to order a catalog or order parts, all correspondence is done through their email : [email protected]...
Thanks Smaxxin. I'm amazed I was able to find parts. Engine parts are still available from Ok Engines and I scored some crucial parts from ebay including a new fuel tank. I think she'll be up and running in no time.
Ok Engines is still in business and they offer a glow head- glow plug conversion along with many other engine parts.. I'm waiting for them to mail me a catalog.
Sooner I can get a glow plug head the better, the glow head clip and battery is a PITA
Thanks guys! It cleaned up better than expected . I can't find any info on nitro/ oil anywhere on the internet, and it's not printed on the can. Good news is I can get it running, bad news is only about 5 seconds at a time. Hopefully it's just a matter of fine tuning the reed valve
Update: Engine is finished. :celebrate:
MY NEW OLD STOCK PARTS FINALLY SHOWED UP AND I WAS ABLE TO FINISH UP THE ENGINE
THE ORIGINAL PRICES MARKED HAVE INCREASED ABOUT 1000%
NEW GASKET, SHIMS, REED VALVE NEEDLE, PINION GEAR WASHER AND GLOW HEAD.
I THINK SHE'S READY TO GO.
I FOUND SOME MORE...
Yeah you're right Rolex, I'm actually glad I didn't win. The condition it's in, I wouldn't have the heart to part it out. I'll figure something out.
Yeah I wondered how the cartridges were punctured, seems like the guy who punctures his can first wins more often than not.
It's never too late...

I tried winning this car to use for parts but not for $300.00
This is my ultimate goal..shouldn't be too difficult
Guideline...Duh! I thought it was more of an anchor line tied to the chassis Now I understand how it works. So you stake your guideline down at the starting line, thread the guideline through the front and rear car chassis loops, and stake down your finish line however many feet away. The car...
Yeah the Cox .049 was really popular and probably the best engine on the market back in the day. They're still popular with the tether plane crowd and parts are still plentiful on ebay and such. I'm amazed at how simple these engines and cars are.
Thanks SMaxxin, if I can get it running I'm...
Thanks for the kind words gents! I wasn't sure if there would be any interest in a project like this but I posted it anyways. :p
@Enuahs if I could get a 3d model of my pappy made (complete with beer belly) that would be hilarious.
UPDATES: I scored some new old stock engine parts on ebay...
After years of searching, I finally found my dad's old tether car stashed away in the attic of my grandparents house.
It had no identifying markings on it but after a couple hours of searching Bing images I was able to identify it.
Made in 1960, its a AMF Wen- Mac Go Kart tether car with a Ok...
