Brushless Motor Tech: Everything You Need to Know

Arrma forum would be a better source of info, but what I have seen time and time again is that 2200kv motors run too hot on 6s in the heavy Arrma rig. Best ones seem to be in the 1600 -1800 kv range for handling the heat. The max 6 combo is a great option.

Brushless Motor Tech: Everything You Need to Know

Are you planning to run in a no-prep class or anything like that? (XO-1 wouldn't be allowed in that class) I can help you pick a motor, but would need to know what voltage you plan to run. In drag often keeping the rig lighter is going to help acceleration, so many guys stick with 2s or 3s...

Brushless Motor Tech: Everything You Need to Know

I made a video a while back with a few motors I had laying around might help some I have seen especially in Traxxas world that Castle motors are part of the reason people get so confused by KV ratings. The problem is that they offer very different motors each with different KV ratings, rather...

Brushless Motor Tech: Everything You Need to Know

Some additions from my notes on Brushless motors Given a specific motor size like 40x75 if one motor is 2200kv and the other 3800kv the higher KV motor will pull significantly more amperage and generate much more heat also. Heat and motor rpms are the limiting factor. There are guys running...
