I've never seen a ball like that in any of my shocks either. Thats a lot of random debris inside of one shock. crazy

On the other end is just an o-ring which probably isnt blue since nothing else is. I've vote for random factory debris at this point. lol

What color are the bladders/seals? maybe a chunk of that?

I just use actual screen like youd buy for your window screens. Not saying its better just saying its also an option.

Short of creating a mesh cover that velcros to the sides of the chassis, I'm not sure how you could accomplish keeping debris out. Wouldnt be that hard to make something like that if you have a sewing machine. Buy some mesh, cut it to shape. sew velcro to the edges.
