Unless you want to change the connectors on the Xmaxx's ESC then yes, pick the Traxxas connector. At least I'm assuming the Xmaxx ESC has a Traxxas connector. I dont own an Xmaxx.

The general rule of thumb in RC is to locktite every screw that goes into metal with blue loctite. I used red once on a chassis brace from my LST2 and I broke 2 allen wrenches trying to get it undone when the brace broke and I had to replace it. I do not suggest using red.
