Scaling a TRX4 Sport factory body and general build thread

It will depend on how it performs once I get it on some rocks. I really like the current approach angle, the little scrapes are from when I decided to put it up against the wall on our hardwood floor and it climbed the wall until the spare hit the ground which was at almost vertical. EDIT: That...

Where I finished up last night. Need to make time to get out and play but it's hard when you are 3 people short at work.

I'm going to call this V1 This is the AheadRC Mighty FC body tweaked to my liking. Rear bumper V1 in photos, 10% infill proofing print I will run until it breaks then put the 100% infill version I printed last night. The integrated LED reverse lights are friction fit so they can be swapped...

Scaling a TRX4 Sport factory body and general build thread

I took about 6 months off from RC working on other projects and am now jumping back in with a complete facelift on the TRX4 I got a bigger printer that will allow for printing bodies in one or two pieces instead of having to slice them into little parts. First print of cab, modded bed, TPU...

Scaling a TRX4 Sport factory body and general build thread

No worries, I intentionally left holes out of the rear bumper mounting points because they were creating a weak spot. I printed them solid and just slid the bumper into the position I wanted it and drilled it so it's just two holes instead of a string of holes, after changing that I haven't...

Scaling a TRX4 Sport factory body and general build thread

Been busy with life stuff so haven't been working on much other than my diecast stuff because it's all low brain activity stuff. Made some progress on the rear interior for the sport. Still a ways from done and I have not even started the front area since I need to get this laid out so I can...

Scaling a TRX4 Sport factory body and general build thread

Have a plan for the rear interior. Need to get that designed up so I can figure out placement for the electronics like the receiver and light controller I need to move to off the lower floor. Originally I planned on building and interior cage system to take the place of the rear body mount but...

I haven't printed it for months, I've been trying to organize my stl folder so I'll dig through and see if I can find it. Mine is modified from the below. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3853462 is the file I originally based my design from.

What I like about the design in that pack is they are accurate. I own these for my home and 1:1 truck. Can holder on the bumper swingout, very thin and can't believe that is the first one I printed. It's been on 3 revisions of this bumper.

Thanks. I'm on a tight budget right now because we really need a vacation so I'm currently soaking some of the stock Traxxas wheels and tires to get the glue off. I did a quick remix on the rim design and made one with the lug nuts removed, Then I'm making a modified T bar to hide the 4mm stud...

Scaling a TRX4 Sport factory body and general build thread

Really needed to get outside today and wanted to run the new body so I checked the river level was good and headed to my favorite spot. Only to find they had a microcell hit last night and down a bunch of trees so they were closed. So I came home and decided to goof around on the wood pile...

Finally back together. I'll see what happens with the paint. It has a cloudy kind of marbled look to it. Seems to have adhered decently and I kind of like it. I'm going to have my wife cut some vinyls for it and have something of a plan for the interior starting with integrating the rear body...

Scaling a TRX4 Sport factory body and general build thread

Paint turned out ok. Probably the wrong choice of color for my first body paint since the 90's but for the abuse it's going to take it will work. Little bit of hazing I think caused by coating too heavy and not long enough between coats for the humidity. Should get the headlights, tail...

Scaling a TRX4 Sport factory body and general build thread

Wife got me some parts for the TRX4, some I asked for and some I didn't. First is the TRX4 Sport Camper body. When I bought the Sport I fully intended to dump the body and go to something licensed. As I've run it and modified it thought the Sport body has really grown on me. Having designed...

I've had the inner fender extensions for the TRX4 Sport sitting in a drawer for a couple of years, don't know why I never installed them but last weekend I decided to throw them in. Wish I had done it earlier. We got some crappy wet snow yesterday that was turning to rain when I got home but I...

Yesterday I was not quite joking about turning this at a slightly larger scale into an intake for a 40mm ducted right onto the motor. Then I found this and I'm sold on the project. Funny enough it's a fan intake for an Ender printer but it is the perfect size for what I want. I'm working...

Thank you. My wife just left to visit her mom for the day so I just loaded up a couple batteries and my tools and am heading out to my spot for a bit.

Made some progress this week. Completely updated my lighting. Got the revised bumper printed, badly painted due to forgetting my can of flat black was bad the last time I used it. Revised pod lights done. I have a revision of the rear bumper but the print is giving me some issues so I added...

It's so bright. I was just playing around while I was tearing the printhead apart on my printer. That is shining through the battery tray. I have 12ft of that orange LED strip. Might cut a couple of pieces and run them under the sides behind the sliders. Need to see how low they will function...

Spent some time adding weight to the truck Friday night, 20oz total, 12oz just forward of the front axle on the frame and 8 just behind the rear axle on the frame. Total weight right about 10lbs 6oz now. Also printed another set of wheels with a little more negative offset and put together a...
