Interesting for sure. We talked about mixing the sidewinder fuel with the blue fuel when it got low in the tank. Haven't done it. Just talk is all.

I seriously have to Google me some fuel then. All these names keep coming up. Lol

My trucks seem to really like the VP fuel. And it's reasonable on cost. That's why I was sticking with it.

Hadn't heard of that fuel. And if I'm running my trucks on a daily or on the weekends with my kids seeing as I'm about to go back to work. I would have to wait for it to get here. It's funny, I've got 15 plus years in customer service and I have patience for years when it comes to that. However...

We are also thinking that after a short run at the park yesterday, that the motor might be done and it's time to get the dynamite 28 hooked up. Problem with that is the break in process. It'll be a good learning experience for sure. But may I say I'm not looking forward to it? I'm almost...

    Rebuilding My Old Savage 21

I'll have to ask my buddy. He watched the guy at the rc shop tune it. I know he put it all the way down on all settings. Then went to factory. Then added just a little to that. That's as much as I know because I haven't touched it since other than an 1/8th turn on the high needle to get the...

That's where I get my stuff from. And they have been out for over a month. About to dig into rebuilding my original savage since I got the motor shims and metal spur gear. Take off the 47T from the 4.6 Savage put the metal 52T on it. Rebuild the 4.6 motor. And move the 3.5 back to its original...

    Rebuilding My Old Savage 21

Well I didn't want to switch fuels to be honest. I should have just gone to my original fuel of the sidewinder. I'm in AZ. It's maybe 70 during the day. No humidity. And 40's at night. Blue VP fuel has been amazing. Only wish I could pick up the original hpi fuel tank without having to wait on...

Ok, so new question. Had to get fuel the other day. Didn't want to go to my normal rc shop. Went to another one. Got fuel but it's higher oil content. I only have it in my current savage with the 3.5 and it isn't wanting to run. It had the perfect tune for the regular fuel. But this is purple...

Yeah that's what it is. We didn't back that nut off after getting it tight.

I put it on a non working truck so it doesn't get lost. I'll look at the manual to see if it will work like you say on the running truck.

Yeah I like the speed where it's at. I know it's enough to make it do flips of I take it off a jump. I mean right now I can break at full speed and do an endo. And that's cool to me.
  13. Dizzyotes88

    Rebuilding My Old Savage 21

Yeah it's got a gap because I didn't want to loose it so I put it on my old hpi so it's not lost or mixed with other parts.

    Rebuilding My Old Savage 21

Have not. I'm about to go to the RC store. See if they have anything that will work. But that spur gear is flat. It doesn't have that cone like the other one. I did just order the steel version of the 52T spur gear. I like the torque with that gear. Thinking of that 49T will work I'll put the...

Well this is on my savage. I'm about to go to the rc store for stuff for the Traxxas ones. Kind of bummed I can't run any of them right now.

Been running it on my street in front of my house. So yeah we burnt up both gears because we had it more than snug. Oops. ?‍♂️

    Rebuilding My Old Savage 21

So, by not loosening that clutch bell is why we tore up 2 spur gears?
  18. Dizzyotes88

    Rebuilding My Old Savage 21

Slides on fine. But there's too much space after putting the washer and spring on before tightening the nut. So yeah, the nut will go on but not tighten all the way so it's wobbly.

    Rebuilding My Old Savage 21

The bigger 52T spur gear is toast. Plastic crap against a metal clutch bell gear. It ate it up. But the 49T gear won't go on securely. It doesn't have that cone shape on the side facing the motor. The 47T is toast as well. I don't want to lose my fun right now until the metal 47T spur gear gets...

So the first 2 pictures are the 49T spur gear. The third picture is my current 52T spur gear. And the last 2 pictures are of my original 47T spur gear. Is there a way to get that 49T gear on my truck? We had tried that one first but it wouldn't go as far as setting it right to tighten it down.
