so was able to bring the truck our and really run a few tanks through it today, was kind of spontaneous but had a blast running it!
found a falling tree that made a perfect ramp lol.
a bit rich but temps right around 240, if pinning the throttle when shifting, thing wants to go sideways, just...
yes, I'm thinking it will help alot that it isnt steel on steel for braking. definitely a big thanks to @cbaker65 for finding it and linking it to me. my first ever Hardcore racing part, few things I'm looking at for my MGT, but they are things that havent yet failed that are existing.
Had a delivery come in today! Haven't been able to install yet, excited to put it on though! Hoping it will be slightly less aggressive than what is factory but time will tell, almost dont want to tear it out of the packaging though lol
got to run it again last night, still having some issues, decided to run it with 20%, seems alot more stable to tune, realized that the engine seal kit i got did not include the Idle o-ring (didnt even think about that needle when i was installing), and after a minute or two of running noticed i...
Awesome glad at least the engine is performing better! Are the flux parts compatible and or any stronger with the diff/ axles? Kinda clueless on savages lol
wanting to see that video
gonna go run the lst and mgt rigged a phone holder to a controller gonna see if I can get some videos too lol
hope you get that thing working right always frustrating when they aren't! Get that new plug for it?
usually you dont have to take the whole truck apart, but the idler shaft backed out and was sandwiching the chassis so i was not able to remove it like normal. dont think I'm going to do the gear...
Well got another lesson today on loctiting stuff was able to run the truck for a minute, engine running beautifully, but happened to flip the truck and noticed some binding, truck wouldn't move so killed the engine. Though the spur finally got destroyed. Ended up being the transmission, the...
got the o-ring kit and the exhaust coupler set in today, went ahead and sealed the engine too. dont really know how necessary it was as the backplate has an o-ring, and the carb has dual o-rings. just need to let it dry and gonna try to run it tomorrow, see if that fixed it.
the upper carb...
to me its in the realm of a reasonable price, as it includes both spur gears (hi and low) and both clutchbell gears.
it is quite crazy how expensive these trucks are... havent been able to find a complete decent shape one for under 300$, even the rollers are right around 250-300$
side note...
got a gasket kit for the engine, kind of weird though finding parts i need through tower hobbies, mostly everything i order as far as parts go are 5+ years discontinued, so its ebay shopping. sucks though, not even an hour after making the order i realized that one tooth of the 70t spur is...
When I pulled it apart they seemed soft enough, not compressed, it is worth it anyways for peace of mind though. I've had needles leak before, just never had these symptoms from it.
Tank sat for the full 24hrs so gonna re-install, and pull the engine to seal that. Gonna order some more exhaust...
didnt even think about the header gasket thanks! gonna order a few to swap out and have on hand.
sat for about a week or so since i previously ran it, was exhibiting the same symptoms. before that was about 10 years give or take since i had last ran them. not seeing any leaking from the o-rings...
so kind of running into some weirdness with the engine running. typically it starts pretty easy, but keeps on not feeding fuel correctly.
pulled off the tank and going to seal up the primer button.
symptoms of running not right:
will start fine after priming, blip throttle a few times while...
that's what caught my eye in the beginning with the MGT! i dont think i could run with that body on it, probably be my shelf body, more or less why i havent spent money on one yet!
think the only rc i had that came with the stock body was my wheely king and my Exceed, all the others either didnt have one or came with a different one. dont mind it though.
i do want a MGT body for my .21 though just to bring back that OE look.
duratrax warhead evo body on that savage, was duratrax's response to the Savage, dont know why it didn't take off though. seemed besides the Evader, duratrax just couldn't get their rc's promoted enough.
that body looks like it would be too thin though.
did find a dodge body that i believe is...
i remember back before i got my C10 Longbed body for the MGT i had a list of the bodies that would fit either the LST or MGT, think it was a whopping 7 or 8 of them. not including stock bodies. seems very few are still available today though even off ebay. all have been superseded and changed to...
