I don't know about replacing the connecting rod. Literally, I don't know. I will Def confirm I have heard, and it makes sense that it takes a lot of abuse during break in. I don't suppose it could hurt and it will also give you a good opportunity to clean out the motor of any little metal...
Wow! Yeah... That would have def ruined my day! I gotta say tho, as much as I'm sure that was not a happy moment, the dog staring at the bats makes me laugh! At least it's been replaced and no real harm done!
Wow! A fire after plugging in? That would Def ruin my whole day! (maybe my kitchen too!!!) Glad they stood behind it tho!!! Def looking forward to seeing a new Kyosho video posted soon!
Maybe when they see you having fun with your rig, they'll have second thoughts? You can always check out local tracks. Even if they are all electric, you may very well meet some ppl there who have nitro as well. Even if they're all electric, just to hang out and bash is fun either way. Get to...
Def looks like you got it dialed in nice! I can't figure out how... What with all that bogus advice you got with the break in and all that... Lol!!! I suppose getting you to ship it to me (at your expense of course) so I can 'really set it up NICE' is out of the question now! I'll have to look...
I have no experience at all with Kyosho electronics. The closest I got was using an old 380(?) Gold can 540 brushed motor... And it STILL runs strong after over 20 years!
Only other thing I could think of would be if it seriously overheated the board somehow. Likely you would see clear signs of that tho. Break out the soldering iron OR break out the phone and call for warrantee replacement. (i would do the later)
Still have my original optima, although it's in kit form right now. I'm thinking now that the re release is out and parts aren't e-bay ridiculous anymore, I will rebuild. Also have my optima mid that I raced wayyyyy back... And it still SCREAMS... Brushed checkpoint before they went mainstream...
Ummm... Who said I wasn't serious? :p I am really loving that buggy! I have been a long time fan of Kyosho. Your pics and your excitement with it proves why. Def another kit in my future. Thinking of going 1/10 electric tho so I can get back on a track. Local tracks are indoor elect only. Prob a...
So now that you've got it all broken in and you THINK you have it right, I will forward you my info... You need to send it to me so I can make SURE you've got it right. In those hot temps in TX, it's imperative! Don't worry, I guarantee that I'll have it back to you by July 4th 2025. So no...
Very nice! I would throw a guess out that your red cat is on the smaller size of 1/10 scale making the new one look enormous. I told a guy here about a vaterra rally and that it was way smaller compared to others in the same class... I dunno why one manufacturer and the other can't stay on track...
