Hey guys,

I have a redcat rampage xb e and I can't find a 7075 motor mount and cam since he is out of stock for the cam....

Anyway, I have explored just staying at 6s and getting the most powerful 6s motor available for it.

Anybody have a good idea as to what would be best that would fit in the stock mount?

I dont see a mount for a 1/5 scale motor

Wasn't sure if they had one or not but thought it would be worth a shot.

I go with 1 of these..http://poseidonrc.com/index.html... as for the motor mount you can find a few online or you might have to breakdown and find a local machine shop to make you 1..I have gone this way b4 my 5 in 1 machine purchase....

The 1500kv 8s motor has a slightly smaller diameter and a can that should fit with length and it looks like it has the standard 4 mount hole format. Will it not fit into the stock mount?

Factory motor is a 4485 (44mm diameter and 85mm length can motor)
It appears you have length to run a longer can motor. Do you have room under the motor to go with something larger in diameter?

The TP Power 4260 might be a good option (despite its name it measures 42x91mm)
The 6D wind 1650kv would be good for 6s use on a heavy 1/5 car.

If you do have room to go with a wider motor the HobbyWing 4985 would be great.

Either motor should have no issues outputting more than 6000 watts (or 6000 / 746 = 8.042 hp)

I went with the Poseidon p1527 1500kv and have it installed in the mount. I am just waiting on my ESC and batteries. This motor will have plenty of power on 8s correct?

The 1527 series motors are very powerful. On 8s I don't expect you to be disappointed at all.
If you have never experienced 8s it has a strong hit of power. On the XMaxx 8s I ended up programming some exponential throttle curve with my Futaba to keep the low end throttle more smooth versus the crazy snap of power that it was wanting to do.

Cool, I'm probably gonna have the punch set to the lowest level when I start. I have it geared at 10/41 with standard XBE diffs and tires. I will have dual Dynamite cooling fans on the motor and a temp gun to monitor temps

As you can see in the photo, those motor wires are very short. The max5 esc comes with motor wires, one end with a male connector to go into the esc and bare wire on the other end. I plan on soldering female bullet connectors to that to connect the motor to esc. Sound right?

cool thanks bro, I'm newer to the hobby however I had a 2wd stampede with a ANCIENT novak ss5800 brushless system when brushless first came out. The tech is SO MUCH better now its insane!!
