i just bought a new cen ct5. amazing price of just 180$. brand new.
my question was what % fuel do i use my friend said to use 30% or is he wrong. so my question for every1 is what % do i use.

what site is the best site for upgrade parts for this cen ct5. i want to mod everything possible have a one of a kind only. thanks guys.:)

Towerhobbies says to use 20% fuel. Most small blocks engines compression ratio is not set for 30% fuel.

Now whats size is considered BB? I have a Savage 25, but maybe its just cold out, i can get it to go too fast... but its still fun. I think i have been using 33% or what ever traxxas sells.

+1 on the 20% fuel. Sidewinder and O'Donnell's are good choices...

really?? It seems to run pretty decent? My buddy has his T-maxx 2.5R and its faster then mine, but maybe thats because my tune sucks or my motor is beat....

but what size is my savage 25?

Thanks, well I've only really run this motor in the winter so I'm not sure if its beat or not... could be the cold weather, i couldnt even get it to do a wheelie. But now i have a temp gun so i can get the tune down better.

So what should be used in the winter? does it matter? Sorry to hi-jack this thread.

Be more specific. You mean for fuel?

Yes what fuel in the winter? what percentage, and i guess i should change brands. I'm running a hot plug because i read thats good when its cold out.

Just 20% but everyone agrees Traxxas fuel SUCKS! Shoot for a 20% with 12% oil. I use Sidewinder myself but Odonnell's and Losi's Nitrotane rock too. Hell, even Blue Thunder is better than Traxxas...

P.S. I run McCoy 59's or OS #8's all the time. Seems my big block (a .26) loves the hot plugs...

I'm not sure if i got the right # but i think I'm running a O.S. A3, I'm not sure.

I think my LHS told me not to buy Blue Thunger because it does something to the engine, i dont remember...

I broke my LST in with it and it actually ran quite well. I think Blue Thunder has gottenan un-earned bad rap...

So if i get 20% does it always equal out that the oil is 12%?

Read this: Blue Thunder Sport 20%, Quart

Key Features:
Superior performance
Developed by world-renowned engine expert Ron Paris
Thermal overload protection
Reduced engine wear

Overview:
Blue Thunder—still America’s #1 racing fuel and the fuel of choice for more race winners over the past decade than with any other brand. World-renowned engine expert Ron Paris formulated Blue Thunder to quickly bring your engine to operating temperature, allow correct tuning of the carb after just a few laps and maintain that level throughout even the longest mains.
Blue Thunder Sport Formula is ideal for those who are new to gas cars or for drivers that want maximum protection for their engines. It features a unique additive called ZX-7 that provides over-lean indication protection. When an engine is over-leaned, internal engine temperatures dramatically increase. At these critical temperatures, Blue Thunder Sport Forumla actually changes from a lubricant to a combustible, giving an immediate indication to the driver that the mixture is too lean. On the track, if the engine is over-leaned, the driver willl immediately notice that the car will hesitate during acceleration, indicating that it's time to pull in and richen the mixture. If the engine continues to run at these overly lean settings it will quit before damage to internal engine components occurs.

Blue Thunder Race blend and their HP8 blend are OK at best. Their other fuels are way too oily. They do dye the engine internals blue also.
ALL the blue thunder fuels I have tried caused OWB's to slip within a few tanks.

No, some are more, some are less. I use 12% but if you find 15%-16% at your LHS use it. Usually more oil is better and synthetic is better than castor IMO.

I personally only have used the Sport and it rocks. Didn't even dye my tank either. But you are correct, it is VERY oily and thats why I used it for my break in fuel. Of course, I do use Sidewinder now...

Sidewinder blends:

Backyard Basher : 20% Nitro 16% Lubricant. Lots of power with the most protection you can get.
Race Blend : 20-40% Nitro 12% Lubricant. Great club fuel. Competitive power with excellent protection.
Pro Blend : 20-40% Nitro 10% Lubricant. For serious competition only.
CANADIAN TEAM BLENDS 20% - 30% 8% Lubricant using our special additives. The cleanest burning fuel made. Developed with insight from Morgan fuels and the CANADIAN team members including Gary Fliegel, Rob Sorjonen, Dave Henry and the SPRUCEWOOD RACING TEAM. Available in Canada only.
World Champ Blend : 30% Nitro with a Multi-Viscosity Lubricant Package.

Not everyone agrees, I have no problem with Traxxas fuel. +1 on the 59s. I have a Savage 25(big block) and run that plug year 'round.

My favorite fuel I've ever run is Wildcat Eliminator 16% nitro,14% oil but my lhs won't stock any more and I can't afford a case at a time for them to order it.
